This is the fourth year and fifth nest of eggs the same Mallard Hen has laid. She nests in an inner courtyard at Big Woods Elementary School. After the eggs hatch, staff needs to escort the hen and ducklings through the school hallways to a nearby pond. We know it is the same duck because one of her feet is missing a toe. She is currently sitting on 13 eggs and we predict they will be ready to hatch anytime after May 5th. The entire school voted on giving her a name. We now call her Mallary Wood.

We have a live camera setup to view the mallard hen nest.
